MADI JANE

oh man. where do i even start?

i love this girl too much. and i feel just horrible because she has had a rough 6 weeks. 2 colds, diarrhea, the diaper rash from hell and she is teething like no other. she is a trooper. we managed to do some fun stuff in december...like disneyland, TWICE! that was freaking rad. nuff said. rad! yes. we experience terrible two's tantrums. daily. and even in the middle of a huge fit, she is the cutest girl ever. she has a new found love for her blankets. not one in particular. any of her blankets will do. and she has many. she wants one everywhere she goes. it's actually very cute. she loves to lay her head on your shoulder to snuggle. love it. sometimes while in a shopping cart she wants a hug. so, i lean in (meaning lean down) and she grabs on...i have spent several shopping trips hunched over as she holds on. makes for a very long and slow grocery run, but how can i deny moments like that. they are precious.

there are days when she wants nothing to do with logan. but, most of the time she does great. if he is fussing in his swing or jumper she walks up to him and says 'its okay.' the other night i had logan sitting on my lap and she walked up and kind of grabbed his cheeks lightly...cutest thing ever. she is still so young herself and we think she has adjusted great to having a new baby in the house.

eating these days can be challenging. well, not so much the eating part but the finding something other than cereal that she is willing to eat. i hardly ever make myself breakfast or lunch because i just eat what i made for her...that she doesn't touch :) she feeds herself cereal with milk and does a GREAT job! she loves wheat toast with nutella or pb&j toast. she is no longer in her highchair and she is lovin' this booster seat business. she looks like such a big girl sitting with us at the table. i can't stand it. we like our water cold. ice cold. or she is content to snack on a cup of ice. again, she is teething like crazy. her teeth make me smile...whoever said teeth come in 2's has not met my kid! they are all over the place. almost as many molars as front teeth. poor kid. luckily, this growing process has her sleeping a ton...yes. i count my blessings here...she still naps twice a day. she hates living bugs but loves to pick up dead bugs and hand them to you. or bring you every stinking pine needle that has fallen off the christmas tree! so hilarious. i ask her to help with a lot of things. close the dishwasher, close the door, grab bubba's binky that has fallen for the billionth time today, help stir noodles and cheese for lunch...it's fun to have her help. she talks. oh man, does she talk. she makes me laugh so much throughout the day...i wish i could be inside her brain for one second... i try to spend some time with just her each week. it's been hard this past month, but we are getting back on schedule after such a crazy december. i love my madi mommy time. i need it and i know she needs it. she is growing up so fast...it really has me quite emotional these days. i try not to blink or i feel like i will miss something. luckily, madi has the BEST grandparents ever. they are willing to watch little logan while we go on our girl dates. she is my best little friend! my sunshine.
