some answers
i thought i'd share some answers to the questions i have been asked recently about bubba's arrival:
Q: how are you feeling?
A: well, it's been rough. i won't lie. but, i feel good the past 2 days. i had a massage the other night...it hurt me so good. since then, my back is hurting less and less each day. yay! i have more energy the past couple of days too...which is nice, since i have been in clean this house, de-clutter every corner, get everything done mode. just about done!
Q: are you ready?
A: HECK YES! in every way. my body is ready. my house is ready. and steven and i think we are as ready as we can be, once again. we are super excited for him to be here. his room is just about finished! i will post pics soon when it's done. we're loving how it turned out and how madi's room has changed a little. we think it's important for our kids to have a comfortable space as a bedroom. we spend a lot of time in madi's room. playing with clothes, reading books, de-organizing diapers, etc. i love the kids rooms...they're just so fun!
Q: where are you delivering?
A: tri-city, where we had madi. close. close. perfect.
Q: where will madi be when you're at the hospital?
A: she will be at home. in her own bed, with her own toys, in her own space. trying to keep things as normal as possible for her. steven will be back and forth since the hospital is less than 10 minutes away from our house. my mom & dad, my sister and possibly steven's mom will be helping out while we are gone. so, she will be well taken care of. honestly, i don't want to talk about it. i don't want to leave her. i just may sneek her into my bag. they'll never know :) my fabulous parents will also have our dogs for a few days...or a week maybe...biggest help ever!
Q: epidural or natural this time around?
A: are you joking? if i can have one, sign me up! i've had kidney stones. 3 times. that's more pain than anyone should ever have to go through by itself. i've had enough pain. so...thanks. i want the drugs! steven said the other night that he's never seen me cry from pain until this last case of kidney stones. ugh, it was horrible. seriously. worst thing ever.
Q: how is your bells palsy?
A: it's....it is what it is. it's not great. it got worse with the kidney stone drama. and seems to get a little worse every few days. but, i can't do anything about it. so, i am trying not to freak out knowing that i got it when i was just a few days farther along with madi then i am right now. we'll see what happens. i am relaxed. trying not to stress about anything. keep my body as mello and rested as i can. there isn't really anything anyone can do anyway. steroids may or may not work, so i don't want to take them. they can refer me to a neurologist...who will tell me whether it's worth it to take the controversial steroids. so...that's where we stand with that. we wait.
Q: are you prepared to have a baby that is the exact opposite of madi?
A: ummmm...yes. we understand that every baby is different. that the temperment of each child is different. madi has always been calm, fairly quiet, and a happy, easy kid all the way around. so, are we ready for a complete terror of a child....sure, if you can really say you prepare for that. steven and i also know that we are partly responsible for the way madi is. yes...it's her mello and sweet temperment that makes her who she is. but, since before she was born we have taken the mentality that we take things as they come. we go with the flow. we don't panic, freak out and over-react. we know she feeds off of our emotions. so, although we know bubba could be a total wild child, we will go about things the exact same way we did with madi. the rest is what it is. all we want is a healthy baby boy!! we will love him no matter how wild and crazy or how squishy & lovey he may be!
i think that's most of them...thanks for your questions...please ask if you have more!
we are just really ready to meet him. see what he looks like...big and hairy or tiny and bald...so exciting! we're ready for the new challenges and fun changes that are about to happen to our family. it's crazy tho...that we're about to have 2 kids! weird....really weird!
