don't get me wrong. i love jamba juice and the kids love it too.
sometimes when we are out it's a good 'help mommy shop...keep this kidlets happy' treat.
lately we have been making smoothies at home to be healthy and because they are just a delicious.
this is how we have been consuming them this week (since this is what fruit we had on hand.)
i am drinking once as we speak...ok, as i type.
2 frozen yogurt blobs
frozen bananas
frozen strawberries
frozen blueberries
handful of spinach - you cannot taste such a small amount at all! genius.
either milk, orange juice or apple juice or a combo is yummy too.
sorry, i don't have actual measurements...just guess i guess. :)
i usually slice my too ripe to eat bananas and freeze them. i will not, i repeat will not eat a banana that is considered 'ripe.' no way. eww. so, we end up with a lot of leftover bananas that go into the freezer. none wasted though. awesome.
i freeze non fat vanilla yogurt in mini muffin tins then stick 'em in a baggie once frozen.
i figure i am probably saving about $3 per smoothie.
plus we eat a little leafy green. (it's hardly any really...but it's better than nothin'!)
