our soooper fun sneaky family day

(for those of you not familiar with sonogram photos...here's a profile shot. baby's head is on the right, belly on left...) sunday we learned that it will be a little boy joining our fun family! we had the BEST day. here's what went down.

saturday, we drove out to visit steven's grandparents at the cemetery. it had been much, much too long since a visit had been paid. as most of you know, we use a family name as a middle name for our kids. it's always been the plan (since we picked out our favorite boy and girl names...maybe 8 years ago!) well, madison jane came from my side, so with this one we chose a name from stevens side. if we had a boy, it would be after his grandfather. girl, after his grandmother. so, this trip to visit them was a very important one. we wish they were here for us to ask in person for their blessing to use their name, but we feel we got as close as we could. we drove out there and had a nice chat with them. we left with the greatest feeling. we knew they'd be honored to have either of their names be used. really, we both felt great about it.

SUNDAY...the soooper sneaky day.

we made an appointment up in orange county to have an ultrasound. (i'm 16 weeks along, so it was good timing.) our familes had no clue! (they also didn't know we went on our special grandparent visit on saturday, we didn't want to give anything away.) we had a fun appointment, where LOGAN ALLAN THOMAS showed his boy goods all over the place. although legally the technician could not confirm 100% that it was a boy, if she could have, she would have! we even got some black & white photos, a cd of the pics and a dvd of the ultrasound to take home :)

so, we made our many, many phone calls, sent several texts, ate at our most favorite mexican joint, played a round of disc golf and enjoyed our day on our old stomping grounds as a future family of 4.

sorry family to keep you out of the loop, but we don't feel one bit guilty about our sneakiness :)

to us, it was important to do these few things with just us. it made for a special weekend full of lasting memories and great feelings!

thanks everyone for sharing in our excitement. we are beyond thrilled to be going through this once more. little logan is ultra loved already!
