the 3rd bag did the trick

wednesday afternoon steven took me to the hospital since my pain meds weren't doing a damn thing. we waited for 2 hours where i cried in the waiting room before i was taken back to a bed, where i cried until the pain medication kicked in. i was given 2 bags of iv fluid and 2 doses of pain medication and was sent home with a new kind of medication. thursday was as restful as it could have been. while my snuggle time was greatly appreciated, i was still not able to eat anything or keep water down. please tell me how to pass a kidney stone if you can't get fluid to your kidney? yes. trick question. friday, same thing. i had to keep myself extremely drugged in order to keep the pain at bay, but was still throwing up. i managed to eat a few bites of tapioca pudding, but other than that, nada. i am the pregnant girl that eats everything. so this was horrible. friday night, steven took me back to the hospital where i was given 1 bag of iv fluid, 1 dose of pain meds. had blood work done, a urine test and a kidney ultrasound (where the technician let us get a quick peek at little logan. awesome. awesome. thanks for cheating, lady.) i couldn't give a urine sample until the bag of fluid had made it's way into my system, because i had nothing in me to pee! so, shortly after the ultrasound i made me way to fill up that cute little cup. if it hadn't have been for that 3rd iv bag, who knows how long it would have taken me to pass it on my own... diagnosis. kidney stones turned kidney infection. sweet. i passed that damn stone while at the hospital. nothing showed on the ultrasound because it had already started to make its journey out. saturday. haven't had pain medication since 6:30pm friday at the hosital. so, needless to say, i can feel every single muscle in my body...they are screaming at me. 3 straight days of throwing up...geez. it's hard on a girl. BUT!!!!! besides a little kidney tenderness, the pain is gone! hooray! the weens are still having a sleep over. (THANK YOU SO, SO VERY MUCH!!) madi went to the park for a picnic with my mom and sister today. then came home for a 2 hr nap. (i slept the hour and a half she was gone and the 2 hrs while she napped...) steven is off on monday. and i can eat. life is good. (to those of you that have called me recently and haven't received a call back...sorry. i will get to it. i haven't forgotten about you. it just might take a couple more days.)

Oh my gosh Hilary! That sounds miserable! I am so glad that you are on the road to recovery! Take GOOD care of yourself. You are so lucky to have a great family to help take care of you too.

I love you and i'm so so sorry. I have heard kidney stones are harder and more painful than labor. You are the man! We hope you continue to feel better. See you in a few weeks!!!
