my body is SO mad at me.
1st pregnancy:
37 1/2 weeks pregnant. FULL BLOWN bells palsy. totally scary at first. then just painful and annoying.
left side of face...dead. really. the nerve is all the way dead.
dr.'s wait a week to give me steroids..and really, they only gave them to me cause my mom called the doctor and made them. thanks mom.
a week after madi is born i start acupuncture. over the course of 8 or 9 weeks i have 6 acupuncture sessions on my face. thanks to those who helped us pay for those by the way.
making a slow by steady recovery from the palsy. about 8 months after i got it initially, i'd say i was a little over 90% recovered.
get pregnant, again. bells doesn't get worse, just doesn't continue to get any better.
it's ok. starting to feel good about my face again. doesn't feel quite as weird, smiling is feeling better, blinking is feeling better and eating is back to normal. most people can't even tell anything was ever wrong.
23 1/2 weeks pregnant with #2:
kidney stones. kidney infection.
3 days of non stop barfing. no food or water. and 2 er visits.
= stress. major, major body stress.
body aches for a few days like i've been run over by a train.
would rather have birthed a child twice in one day then gone through what i went through.
bells palsy, getting worse.
left side of face is getting tighter every couple of days. and i know others can tell, cause they've told me. left eye having trouble staying shut at night. mouth drooping a little.
WHAT THE EFF!
sorry to complain. just had to vent for a minute. 'cause really, what the eff.
we joke about what if we have a 3rd kid...WHAT'S MY BODY GONNA DO!!!!! ok, we kind of joke, kind of freak out about it a little.
so, if we're chatting and i am not really making eye contact, this is why. it's not 'cause i'm rude or not paying attention. ever since i got the bells palsy i find i don't look people in the face as much, or for as long. unless i have on my sunglasses...MAN, wish i could wear them all day long.
all i have to say is...it's a good freaking thing something (someone) good comes out of all of this! and to be honest, even though i am totally whining right now, i'm happy. (a little worried...but completely happy.) no matter what kind of bull shizzz my body throws my way. i'll suck it up. 'cause i know it's all worth it in the end!
